Jo Serrapere, a songwriter from the Detroit area, started playing guitar at 23 when seeking out lessons from Delta Blues guitarist, Shari Kane. Shortly thereafter, Jo began writing her own songs while completing her college studies in clinical psychology. For the last several years, she has been playing at music venues throughout southwest Michigan, with appearances in New Orleans, LA; Austin, TX; Toronto, Ontario, Canada; Madison, WI and Pittsburgh, PA. JO has showcased in high standing at the Philadelphia Music Conference, performed at the Detroit Taste Fest and impressed audiences at the International Blues Festival in Novi, Michigan and Windsor, Ontario.
Whether recreating old songs from the Mississippi Delta or performing songs in her own confessional style, Jo's passionate, acoustic music creates an intimate, honest look in to the extraordinary experience of everyday life. Her highly eclectic writing and performance fuses elements of blues, folk music, alternative rock and jazz.
